Falleni Sits For His Portrait

*

I do not care for perfection.

I love the odd and disfigured.

*

Good thing, too.

*

Lately whenever I am frustrated or despairing of human activity I picture us all as a big, unruly troop of chimpanzees.

It really helps.

*

Namaste.

that's about the best thing we do for each other.

combing through each other's fur, picking out the things that torment us, and eating them.

that's love.

That's much more generous than when I am despairing. I think of us all as a cancer sucking the life out of our mother.

But then, I've been known as the resident jaded fatalist for some time now.

I like your version better. Less depressing with some chaotic amusement rolled in.

Hang in.

oh my god. this made me gasp. there is something about this figure, this man, this piece of work you've created that I know. I don't see the monkey in this, I see someone I recognize far too well. I can't explain.

Our closest primate relative, right? I want to "go ape" only in the best sense, in astonishment.

Be well, dear Tearful . . .
