Souls VII

*

Playing hookie today.

Maybe I will cook a mess of good food and clean the house and take the woman to the Bay Theater to watch Inception and go to Castaways and the nursery and Thai Bounty for take out curry in a place shaped like a boat.

Maybe I will lay about in the hammock and drink.

Maybe I will do both.

*

I am a lazy man. As much as I like to work hard, I like not working even better. I like playing hooky. I like slipping out of the straightjacket of my self-imposed responsibilities.

I like goofing off.

*

So there.

*

May you be happy.
May you be calm.
May you be at peace.

SORRY, you are not a lazy man...cook a mess of good food, clean the house, movie.....face it, you can't sit still long enough to enjoy that drink....Pull the plug man, climb in the hammock and kick off gently, ice clinking, toes dangling. I'm just sayin'......

Haha, such a (fellow) Libran. The straitjacket (note spelling — pedantry's one of mine) or the hammock. Or both. Love your blog; many thanks.

Penelope-

Good to see you here! And, yes, you nailed it. Libran. Except that I swing from side to side of the pendulum and rarely find the balance in the middle. I like both ends too much.

I really enjoyed your blog. You can bet I'll be back.

yrs-

tearful

I think you've hit upon something there. Thank you. For stopping by, for reading, for being you, etc.

I think that last thing you wrote about your marriage seriously kicks ass and it had me in tears.

:) i don't know if you saw, but a few posts back i wrote about an anxiety attack i had, and how i was crying and vacuuming like a crazy person- i mean AS a crazy person, and i suddenly thought ' i am the tearful dishwasher '- metaphorically. xo

Oh what joy - goofing off.

It's Friday afternoon here in Melbourne and soon I shall goof off too for a Malaysian dinner, a few glasses of wine and my husband's company.

We all need it from time to time, without self recrimination. It's called playtime.
