this feels like a study in dispassion...interest certainly... but the dispassion with which we view castastrophes on our televsion screens here in the 'developed', electonically engaged western world.
well-dressed- cleaned and groomed-- and watching horrors as though they were truly pictures on flat screen in our living rooms. funny they should call the new technology plasma tv, as though it makes it more alive than the digital surface of things. watching wars, watching other people's lives explode in news blurbs between...(oh god)....reality shows.
