ow - matter-of-fact, as laurel says - it's like a poetic detective story, which of course it is in fact. I get a Rob Grillet vibe - cold, heldin, angling close, moving in/on. The ending says it all re the narrator - that cigar focus - post traumatic stress syndrome frozen out, at least on the surface. So many surfaces, the gold skin, the narrator's delivery.
Good to hear you - come visit, I'll surely be visiting you.

wonderful, scott! good to hear your voice. fascinating.
Just the facts, ma'am. This is about as straight forward, as honest and unforced and uncontrived as a reading gets.
But I guess it's only fitting that your actual voice would match your poetic voice, Scott.
It was very good to hear you.
And I'm damn glad to have found your blog.
Jill, Laurel, thanks you guys!
I'm honored you'd stop by. I've been lurking on your blog, Jill, and I just found Laurel's today.
I like the intimacy the blog seems to provide, it's less
of a free-for-all.
